What a summer it’s been!
Every summer we give young people the chance to gain work experience with us. For some, this is their very first encounter with working life, and we believe it is important to give young people a good start.

“The cafeteria boosts wellbeing for employees, with good food and a cafeteria manager who makes you look forward to the lunch break,” says Factory Manager Steinulf Grøvik.
People describe Agnieszka Rusek as a fantastic person who serves good moods as well as good food. According to the factory manager, she is always cheerful and positive, and always makes sure there is enough food even for those who arrive a bit late. Agnieszka came to Norway from Poland in 2008.

“It’s incredibly nice to be appreciated, and to see people enjoy the cafeteria and the food we serve,” says the cafeteria manager, who has worked as cafeteria manager since 2021 and has many years of experience ordering supplies and creating menus.
She really enjoys working in the Møre Trafo canteen because she likes cooking, and making food for so many people gives her great joy – not least because she gets so much positive feedback.
“The cafeteria is open five days a week. Every day we serve a buffet with cold cuts, handmade salads, fresh vegetables, bread and baguettes. In addition, we serve a hot meal once a week, fresh fruit every Thursday and dessert on Fridays,” says Agnieszka.

When she plans the menu, she makes sure it is varied and that everyone can find something they like. In the cafeteria at Møre Trafo, all kinds of pasta salads are very popular. Lasagna and waffles, which she serves every other Friday, are also two big favorites.
Employees can first try both the food and the atmosphere in the cafeteria before they decide if they want to become regulars.
“When I started, about 50 people ate here – now it’s closer to 90,” says Agnieszka.
To enjoy the tasty food in the canteen, each employee pays 450 kroner a month. Møre Trafo built the industrial kitchen in 2016. ISS runs it, and Møre Trafo pays Agnieszka’s salary.

“I really appreciate all feedback. It matters because it helps me adapt the food to people’s needs and tastes, and for me it’s a personal satisfaction when people come to the canteen with a smile and express their enthusiasm,” says the cheerful canteen manager.
Fresh and varied food is rule number one for Agnieszka, and every salad and every hot meal lists which allergens it contains. If Møre Trafo has guests in the canteen with allergies or food intolerances, she adapts the meals for them.

“Møre Trafo is a very large company, and the canteen is a place where people from different departments can meet, talk, take a break from work, and share a meal. I believe meeting colleagues over good food has a very positive impact on the working environment. And a satisfied, happy, and well-fed employee is also more productive,” says the popular canteen manager with a smile.
Positive relationships between employees matter a lot to her. That’s why she always comes to work with good energy, a smile on her face, and a kind word for everyone in the cafeteria.
“We also have a motto: ‘Take what you want, but eat what you take,’ because it’s very important that we throw away as little food as possible,” says Agnieszka.
