We take oil samples for laboratory analysis to assess the condition of the insulating oil: moisture content, acid number, and breakdown voltage. Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) also gives early warning of developing faults – such as overheating or partial discharges – long before they can turn into failures. DGA can indicate the type of fault; electrical measurements can locate it.
Review of the transformer’s external condition: seals, surface treatment, ventilation, cooling, connections, and safety components. We assess the condition and give a concrete recommendation for further actions.
Bushings and tap changers are among the components most exposed to failure. We check their condition, uncover wear and recommend actions – whether that means cleaning, adjustment or replacement.
Inspection of temperature gauges, oil level gauges, pressure relief valve, and other measuring and protection equipment.
Where the analysis shows it, we filter the oil to remove moisture and contaminants, or we replace the insulating liquid completely. Drying moist paper insulation is a concrete measure where we know that correct execution can significantly extend service life. Used insulating liquid is handled in an environmentally sound way.
In many cases, increased cooling capacity is a simple and effective way to reduce operating temperature – and extend insulation lifetime. We assess your existing cooling solution and recommend measures where relevant.
We document every service visit in writing. Over time, we build a history for your installation – giving you a better basis for maintenance planning, investment decisions, and regulatory compliance.
