The production hall with the concrete plant and offices has a total area of 2,335 square meters.

Going Big in Sweden

The production hall with the concrete factory and offices has a total area of 2,335 square meters.

KL Industri is in an expansive phase with a major reorganization, and on June 20 the new building of just over 2,000 square meters officially opened. KL Industri is the Nordic market leader in developing, producing, customizing, and delivering transformers and substations.

Substations in Concrete

Substations in steel have been, and still are, in demand, but the market is increasingly asking for substations in concrete. To keep the best possible control and quality of the concrete production, and to become even more cost-effective, KL Industri AS has built its own concrete factory. In addition to the concrete factory, the new building is a multi-hall with several production lines.

Strengthen the Position

“Our ambition is to further strengthen our position and at the same time be even more present in new segments. Our customers’ future must also be our future,” says the company’s CEO, Tino Gournambassis, about why the company is now taking several new steps.

CEO of Møre Trafo, Tor Rieve Kristiansen, attended the opening of the major new initiative on June 20.

Future-Focused

“Even if this will not have any direct impact on Møre Trafo, KL-industri AS is part of the entire group, and the future-focused investment the company is now making, not least through efficiency improvements, is impressive and reassuring,” says Rieve Kristiansen.

Subsidiary

Møre Trafo is owned by the Møre Electric Group, which in turn is owned 66 percent by the family-owned Rieve Group and 34 percent by Schneider Electric. KL-Industri, which since 2000 has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Møre Electric Group, has grown significantly in recent years and in 2017 had a turnover of 480 million Swedish kroner.

The Concrete Factory

The production hall with the concrete factory and offices has a total area of 2,335 square meters. The hall is 18.5 meters wide and 108 meters long. Ground was broken in March 2018. The annual production capacity is close to 4,000 concrete foundations, and the factory can cast, assemble, and paint 180 concrete enclosures per year.

KL-Industri

The company was founded as early as 1946 and is located in Finspång municipality in Östergötland, Sweden. The municipality, with its 20,000 inhabitants, borders the municipalities of Norrköping, Motala and Linköping.
