Children and adults gather to walk around the Christmas tree – true to tradition.
– Julefesten er populær, spesielt blant de yngste. Ansatte skal ha fått klar beskjed fra sine barn at de
ikke får slutte på Møre Trafo for da går de glipp av julefesten og gavene, forteller administrerende
direktør Tor Rieve Kristiansen med et smil.
Loyalty and Unity
Those who work at Møre Trafo get to know their colleagues’ families, and Rieve Kristiansen believes that
events like the Christmas party help build both loyalty and even stronger unity among the
employees.
“It all started in the canteen at the factory in Aursnes, but the Christmas party eventually grew so big”
and popular that it now takes place at Sykkylven kulturhus, says Tor Rieve Kristiansen.
“Same procedure”
It’s the “same procedure” every year, just like good Christmas traditions should be. All employees with
spouses and children, plus the retirees, are invited to the Christmas party, which usually gathers around 150 people.
Etter velkomsthilsen er det Møre-sangen, julemelodier fremført av Sykkylven Storband, julefilmer i
eget rom med godteposer for de yngste, utdeling av utmerkelser, juleevangeliet, underholdning,
servering, gang rundt juletreet og utdeling av julegaver.
Christmas presents for the kids
All children under 16 get a wrapped Christmas present with age-appropriate gifts – the real deal, in other words.
It’s hugely popular, and when the gifts are handed out it’s not the transformers, but Santa himself who
creates all the excitement.
Behind the party is the employees’ Christmas party committee, and every year they bring in eight to ten young people who
get paid to help with serving and cleanup.
The Start of Christmas
It’s a completely alcohol-free event and marks the start of the Christmas holiday when the employees head
home and bring out the cured lamb leg and the rest of the Ringdal food they received earlier in the day.
Honoring employees
“The Christmas party is also a great opportunity to honor loyal employees with awards such as a gold watch for
25 years, the Norges Vel Medal for long and faithful service after 30 years, as well as 40 and 50 years of employment,” says
Tor Rieve Kristiansen.
On Saturday, September 12, Møre Trafo invites you to an open house in Sykkylven. We are opening the factory gates and welcoming visitors of all ages for a day of tours, activities, and a look at how transformers and substations are made. We are also celebrating the opening of our new substation factory and 75 years as a local industrial company.
