What a summer it’s been!
Every summer we give young people the chance to gain work experience with us. For some, this is their very first encounter with working life, and we believe it is important to give young people a good start.

The transformers use FR3 environmentally friendly insulating fluid and enhanced protection for the best possible and safe operation,” says Sales & Marketing Manager at Møre Trafo, Ivar Lifjeld, about the order.

Lifjeld thinks it is very nice to earn renewed trust from such a large and serious customer as Troll Housing. Deliveries are now in full swing and will be completed just after the summer. Høyspent AS has been hired as a consultant and handles the tender work. Previously, Møre Trafo has delivered substations and transformers to Troll Housing with a total capacity of 45 megawatts.
Møre Trafo is Scandinavia’s largest manufacturer of distribution transformers and substations, and gets many inquiries from data centers that are in the planning stage. Building data centers is good business for Møre Trafo. The cornerstone company in Sykkylven has been quick to adapt to this market, and serves as both advisor and sparring partner for transformer deliveries to data centers.

– Møre Trafo has built knowledge and expertise in this field so we can deliver transformers that are robust enough to handle the loads. We deliver complete solutions with transformers, substations, switchgear and foundations adapted to high and continuous load for data center operation. These operating conditions never take a break and run 24 hours a day, all year round. That demands top quality and the right technical solution, says Lifjeld.

Data center growth over the past couple of years has been formidable, and there are plans for new data centers all over the country. The authorities currently have no overview of how many data centers exist in Norway. According to Statnett, various data centers have together requested more than 8,000 MW of power, equal to one fifth of Norway’s total installed capacity. Data centers cover everything from storing information on the internet to complex computing tasks for research and product development.
