“We scored high on most of the criteria. Our ordering tool was especially important, as it gives the customer confidence that contractors use equipment approved by the grid company, and then environmental performance was given high priority when choosing switchgear. Here we could offer gas-free switchgear from Eaton,” says Sales Manager at Møre Trafo, Ivar Lifjeld.

Glitre deal for Møre Trafo – Top Score on Environment

High Environmental Standards

Glitre Energi Nett sets high environmental standards, and for the grid company it was therefore important that the suppliers could demonstrate a comprehensive environmental commitment and certifications.

Møre Trafo is certified Miljøfyrtårn, Grønt Punkt and is a RENAS member. Møre Trafo scored highest of all the bidders on environmental performance.

The Grid Company

Glitre Energi Nett is a grid company in the Glitre Energi group. It operates and develops the power grid, and delivers grid services to customers in its supply area. The grid business forms a critical national infrastructure, and aims for the highest possible supply security at the lowest possible cost.

Glitre Energi Nett was established in 2015 after a merger between EB Nett, Lier Nett and Hadeland EnergiNett. EB Nett was itself the result of the merger between Drammen Energinett and Buskerud Nett in 2001. In 2002/2003 EB Nett merged with Kongsberg Energi and Nedre Eiker Energi.

94,000 grid customers

The grid company owns the regional grid in Buskerud county and adjacent areas in Oppland, Vestfold and Hordaland. The company also owns the distribution grids in the municipalities of Lier, Drammen, Kongsberg, Nedre Eiker, Jevnaker, Lunner and Gran.

Glitre Energi Nett has around 100 employees, 94,000 grid customers, 3,482 substations, 52 transformer stations, and in 2019 had a turnover of just over one billion kroner.

Electronic Negotiations

“Everything for this contract also took place electronically because of corona and COVID-19,” says Ivar Lifjeld.

The framework agreement runs for three years, with an option for a further two years.
