“Very good, both professionally and socially. It’s important for us to meet a supplier like this,” says Lars Davidsen, head of Hafslund Nett’s Customer Projects department.

Gold-Standard Customer Visit – Norway’s Largest Met Scandinavia’s Largest

The whole department, 18 men and two women, joined the visit to the factory in Sykkylven. Here from the presentation of Møre Trafo in the auditorium.

Largest Customer

Hafslund Nett is Møre Trafos largest single customer in Norway. Hafslund Nett is also Norway’s largest grid company and the fifth largest in the Nordics with 710,000 customers. Hafslund Nett owns and operates the regional grid in Oslo, Akershus and Østfold, as well as a distribution grid covering 35 municipalities in Oslo, Akershus and Østfold.

Two Big Players at XL

Møre Trafo is, for its part, Scandinavia’s largest producer of distribution transformers and prefabricated substations. When so much is about big and biggest, XL-diner was of course the natural restaurant choice for a shared bacalao evening.

Norway Advantage

“We have a great collaboration and a very good customer relationship with Møre Trafo. For us, it’s a big advantage that they are based here in the country. It means fast, high-quality service to solve any issues,” says Davidsen.

Premium Agreement

Møre Trafo is proud to be a supplier to Norway’s largest grid company, and very pleased that Hafslund chose to continue the strong cooperation when a new agreement for the delivery of distribution transformers was signed in August 2017.

According to the company, an important reason why Hafslund chose Møre Trafo is their strong experience with Møre Trafo’s product quality, short and accurate delivery times, and the expertise and strong environmental focus you find at Møre Trafo. The agreement, which covers deliveries of 300–400 distribution transformers per year, runs for two years with an option for another three. A valuable contract worth around NOK 40–50 million a year for Møre Trafo.

Strict Requirements

Hafslund Nett is a customer with very strong transformer expertise, and they set strict requirements for Møre Trafo as a supplier.

“But we’re not transformer experts. That’s why it was very instructive for us to get so much good insight, input and knowledge about Møre Trafo, the factory and the production. One thing that surprised us was how much manual and skilled ‘handwork’ goes into transformer production. It’s easy for us on the outside to think that most of it is automated,” says Lars Davidsen.

A Whole Department

The entire department, 18 men and two women, joined the visit to the factory in Sykkylven. They also took a city walk in Ålesund with Sindre Nakken as their guide after they arrived in Ålesund on Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Møre Trafo presented in the auditorium before a very interested group was taken on a tour of the production. During the event itself, Møre Trafo’s Sales representative for Eastern Norway, Tore Tangen, was in charge.
