You gain new knowledge about transformers and substations during the factory visit.
Super useful!

“It was incredibly useful and I had many aha moments along the way,” says Sivert from Molde, who is an apprentice energy fitter at Istad Nett.
Møre Trafo is the main supplier to Istad Nett, so Sivert knows Møre Trafo well, but the factory visit gave him lots of new knowledge about transformers and substations.
“I thought production was more automated and didn’t realize that transformer production needs so much manual work. The theory part was also very thorough and, not least, useful for what you shouldn’t do when it comes to installation. I guess Istad Kraft will avoid a few mistakes in the future,” says Sivert, who will take his trade certificate exam in about a year.
Sivert is very satisfied and really enjoys his career choice. The demands are high for those who choose electrical trades; it is important that you are precise and systematic, practically minded, good with your hands, service-oriented, think logically, are creative, and have good color vision.

A total of 14 electrical apprentices from Møre og Romsdal took part in the program, led by Nils Johan Sylte, Møre Trafo’s District Manager for Central Norway.
