“We’ve had a three-year agreement with the sports club, and we’re now about to finalize a new one. All the details aren’t ready yet, but there’s no doubt we think it’s important to sponsor Sykkylven and local sports,” says CEO of Møre Trafo, Leif Leira.

CEO of Sykkylven IL, Nicolai Karlsen, is very pleased with the support from Møre Trafo and that Scandinavia’s largest manufacturer of distribution transformers and prefabricated substations is continuing as a partner and sponsor.

Important Support

“For us, the support from Møre Trafo is extremely important. We distribute the funds to our subgroups and sports in Sykkylven IL. They use the funds to run the sports, so they can offer a good program to our members. We see across the board that costs are rising, and that’s why we need the stability our partners and sponsors provide. Many of our sponsors also help fund specific events organized by SIL,” says Karlsen.

Doing a great job

Karlsen goes on to say that Møre Trafo has been a strong supporter and sponsor in recent years under a fixed agreement.

“We are very pleased to be a partner for SIL, which we believe does a great job and contributes very positively in Sykkylven and for active children and young people,” says Leif Leira.

Karlsen says it is important to maintain a sports club in a way that ensures the members take part in quality-assured activities.

The Biggest

Sykkylven IL offers a wide range of activities such as football, handball, gymnastics/rhythmic gymnastics (RG), swimming, e-sports, Nordic skiing and badminton. The sports club was founded in 1906, and is now the largest volunteer organization in the municipality. In 2021, SIL had 1,238 members, with an almost even split between women and men.
