Troll Housing is one of Norway’s leading data center operators and has over time built a solid facility in Tydal. In connection with a major expansion, they again chose Møre Trafo, based on an overall assessment of quality, technical solution, and delivery capability.
The delivery includes 46 transformers with instrumentation, designed for high and continuous load and maximum operational reliability. The transformers use FR3 environmentally insulated fluid and an elevated protection level – for a facility that never shuts down.
“Data centers demand completely different levels of robustness and precision than many other installations. There are no breaks here. Both quality and solutions have to be right from day one.”
– Ivar Lifjeld, Head of Sales & Marketing, Møre Trafo

A data center running 24/7/365 allows zero tolerance for power supply failures.
Over time, Møre Trafo has built solid expertise in the data center segment and often acts as a technical advisor and sparring partner already in the planning phase. Høyspent AS was engaged as a consultant for the tender process.
Previously, Møre Trafo has delivered substations and transformers to Troll Housing with a total capacity of 45 MW. This delivery represents a significant expansion of the existing collaboration.
The delivery clearly shows the long-term, trust-based relationship between Møre Trafo and Troll Housing – and Møre Trafo’s position as preferred supplier in the growing data center market.
Data center development is a fast-growing market in Norway, with ever-stricter demands for security of supply, energy efficiency, and reliable infrastructure.
