The civil engineer holds a master’s degree in technology with a specialization in electric power engineering from NTNU in Trondheim, and has joined a newly created position to develop the aftermarket in the company.

Coming Back

Pernille lives in Brattvåg with her husband, one child and two stepchildren, and is now coming back to Møre Trafo where she previously worked as a design engineer. She joins from the position of Senior Electrical Engineer at Northern Islands Technology, which develops and delivers electrical and automation solutions for the maritime market.

Will Strengthen the Aftermarket

Aftermarket is about making sure customers get maximum value from their investments throughout the product’s lifetime – from installation to modernization. I want to help make Møre Trafo even more accessible, proactive, and solution-oriented in our dialogue with grid companies and other customers.

Why did you say yes to the job?

— I already knew the company – the quality products, the great colleagues, and the company’s values. At the same time, I got the chance to help develop a completely new focus area. It was impossible to say no.

A Strategic Move

She is especially motivated by the chance to build closer customer relationships and help ensure high operational reliability in critical infrastructure.

I’m passionate about creating structure and systems that make it easier for you to make good decisions throughout the product’s entire life cycle. It’s about combining technical understanding with strong customer dialogue and developing services that deliver real value.

A key challenge is to move from a more reactive aftermarket to a more systematic and proactive model.

Many products have a long service life and different histories. That calls for good processes and clear overview to build holistic lifecycle management.

New Services

Hatlehol says that Møre Trafo already offers relevant services such as service, repairs and emergency stock, and sees opportunities to develop new services, including condition-based maintenance, oil analyses, sensors and digital monitoring, modernization packages for older substations, emergency preparedness agreements and advisory services for customers.

“More electrification increases the need for condition assessments, modernization and advisory services. Existing equipment runs harder, and customers will need more support to make sure the grid can handle future demands,” she says.

Strategic Move

Hiring Hatlehol as Head of Aftermarket and Camilla Blom as Head of Marketing is part of a strategic step up at Møre Trafo.

A lot is happening with our customers now. In-depth interviews in the industry have given us clear signals about where we can improve.
Runar Tandstad, CEO

Customers expect more when it comes to service, digital availability, and information.

Our products are part of Norway’s most critical infrastructure and have a very long service life. That’s why it’s important to follow them up in the best possible way. Here, Pernille Hatlehol will be an important contact person for our customers.
Runar Tandstad

He also points to the need to be closer to the market.

“Marketing Manager Camilla Blom will play a key role in further developing and adapting our services to customer needs,” he says.
