– A great professional day – and social too, says Trond Groven from Melbye Skandinavia, one of Møre Trafos partners.

– Strong technical day

32 Møre Trafo customers gathered at the factory in Sykkylven on Thursday March 28 for technical input,

presentations and a two-hour interesting and educational tour of the facilities of Scandinavia’s largest

producer of distribution transformers and substations.

High-Voltage Chefs

The night before, 24 of the customers went to Akvariet and Klippfiskakademiet in Ålesund to prepare their own dinner under expert guidance from professional chefs. Laughter came easy among the high-voltage chefs, who were full of excitement about the final result of the four-course menu – featuring both whale steak and klippfisk.

“A different and really fun experience. In addition to the technical content, the social side –

maintaining contacts with customers and meeting potential new ones – is an important and useful part of the event

that Møre Trafo deserves full credit for, says Groven.”

Shared customers

Melbye is a leading Scandinavian technical sales and marketing company that delivers

forward-looking products and smart system solutions for infrastructure in energy and fiber networks.

Melbye supported the technical day. Melbye and Møre Trafo share many customers and have

worked together for many years.

The History

Before the tour of the factory, Nils Johan Sylte walked the group through the history of Møre Trafo

which was founded in 1951 by Oddvar Rieve Kristiansen under the name AS Møre Transformatorfabrikk. In the first years the company rented production facilities before a new factory was built at Aursneset in

Sykkylven. The factory has been continuously expanded as production and the number of employees have

risen. The production facility covers 11,000 square meters and employs nearly 135 people.

Woodpeckers

“Being this close and seeing how things you’ve only ever thought of as

finished products actually come to life on the production line is something quite special. And the setup gives you plenty of room for

questions and in-depth answers from skilled specialists,” says Trond Groven, who was himself one of

the speakers at the technical day – among other things on how you can protect overhead line poles from

woodpecker damage using specially designed tubes.

Wide range

A wide range of customers from Nettpartner Prosjekt, Nettpartner, Istad Nett, Nordlandsnett AS, NTE

Nett, Mørenett, Troms Kraft nett, Gudbrandsdal Energi, Nesset Kraft, YIT, Melbye and also people from

Møre Trafo joined yet another successful technical day.
