Scandinavia’s largest producer of distribution transformers and prefabricated substations has never sold this much in a single month. Revenue is 20 percent above budget for the month.

Transformer Record

Skilled Employees

– We celebrated the record revenue with cake. All our skilled employees do a fantastic job, says CEO of Møre Trafo, Leif Leira.

Biggest in Norway

The 11,000-square-meter production facility in the industrial town of Sykkylven includes, in addition to distribution transformers and substations, aluminum doors and vents for transformer rooms. Møre Trafo is the largest seller of transformers in Norway with a market share of around 50 percent.

Swimming Against the Current

Leif Leira has described Møre Trafo a bit like swimming against the current compared with many others in the industrial sector. In periods when others have struggled, Møre Trafo has had the wind at its back. The company came out stronger from both the financial crisis and the coronavirus crisis, when revenue actually increased. Revenue has risen by around NOK 90 million over the last two to three years, and today Møre Trafo has a turnover of around NOK 430 million.
