Uncompromising Operation

Transformers built for maximum reliability and long service life.

Distribution transformer

The Foundation of Power Distribution

Power you can trust – even when the grid is under pressure.

Our liquid-insulated transformers form the very foundation of power distribution. They are designed for maximum reliability under heavy load and in harsh climatic conditions.

Efficient Cooling, Stable Operation

The oil conducts heat efficiently away from the windings and keeps an even temperature – even under high load. The result is high efficiency and a long technical service life.

Predictable Condition Monitoring

You can analyze oil quality throughout the transformer’s lifetime, giving you precise condition monitoring and planned maintenance instead of unexpected shutdowns.

Robust insulation and high operational reliability

The high dielectric strength gives safe, stable operation, even in critical infrastructure where downtime is not an option.

Scalable Capacity

We deliver transformers in a wide range of sizes and configurations – tailored for everything from local distribution to critical infrastructure.

More Energy. Less Loss.

Purchase price is one thing. Energy cost over the full lifetime is something else entirely.
Lower energy loss = lower power bill – every single year for 30–60 years.

Built for Nordic conditions.

Transport infrastructure often operates in some of the most demanding environments in the energy system.

Transformer in Nordic climates

Charging facilities and shore power systems are often installed in ports, along the coast, and in open areas where the equipment faces demanding conditions. Low temperatures, strong wind, salt and sea spray, as well as humidity and large temperature fluctuations, place high demands on both design and material selection.

Transformers and substations from Møre Trafo are built to run reliably in these conditions. Tough materials, well-designed ventilation and construction adapted to the Nordic climate ensure dependable operation – even in demanding environments.

Modern Production

Built for precision. Produced for quality.

Transformers from Møre Trafo are produced in one of Norway’s most modern factories for distribution transformers. Here, development, production, and quality assurance come together in one continuous production line – from core and windings to fully tested transformer.

Robotized Transformer Production
Employees in the production plant

Modern production in Norway gives you a robust and predictable supply chain, with a short distance from production to market. That makes it easier to plan, follow up, and secure deliveries – even when global supply lines are under pressure. At the same time, being close to our own production and expertise gives stronger preparedness and greater flexibility when needs change. For you, that means more reliable access to transformers and greater predictability throughout the entire project.

The continuous production ensures consistent quality, efficient flow, and solid traceability at every stage. At the same time, modern production equipment gives you the flexibility to adapt transformers to different specifications and project requirements – built for stable operation for decades.

Up to 97% material recovery

Material Recycling of Transformers

An oil-immersed transformer can, after end of use, return positive material value to the value chain. Up to 97% of the materials can be recycled.

Our transformers are designed for disassembly and recycling. With a recycling rate of up to 97%, Møre Trafo actively contributes to the circular economy. We are a member of RENAS – Norway’s leading WEEE return company – which guarantees environmentally safe return and recycling of all electronic components and raw materials.

One standard. Endless options.

Tailor-made for utilities, industry and infrastructure – delivered with precision.

A selection of transformers ready for dispatch

One standard doesn’t mean one solution. You can adapt the platform with different voltage levels, power ranges, winding configurations, earthing methods and cooling solutions – from local distribution to demanding industrial and infrastructure installations. Each transformer is configured to actual needs: load profile, environmental conditions, loss requirements, redundancy and future capacity growth.

The result is a solution that is standardized in quality – but performance tailored to your needs.

Our transformers comply with the EU Ecodesign requirements and reduce energy losses throughout their entire lifetime. Over the full life cycle, high efficiency delivers significant energy savings.

Icon for circular economy

Up to 98% of the materials can be recycled. You can dismantle the components efficiently with low energy use.

Icon for an environmentally friendly, fire-safe solution

If needed, the transformers can be delivered with natural ester fluid (FR3) – with a very high flash point and high biological degradability.

Icon for low noise level

The oil acts as a natural sound damper and reduces noise levels in densely populated areas.

Choosing the right technology is not just about performance – it is about responsibility.
